January 26, 2012
Tonight, join us and our friend Dane from Indie Wineries from 6-9 pm for a tasting of three fantastic wines, each from small producers in Austria and Italy. We’ll have bread from SCRATCH and cheese from ED!
Plus, we have NEW ART on the walls from Brooklynite Brandon Sines.

Arndorfer ”Vorgeschmack” 2010
The Arndorfers are a young Austrian couple both hailing from from illustrious winemaking families. Their sustainable wines reflect their family’s experience as well as an exciting new energy. “Vorgeschmack” is a blend of Gruner Veltliner and Riesling. Roughly translating to “appetizer”, this lively, vibrant wine is the perfect way to get any party started. $19.50

San Fereolo “Valdiba” 2007 Dolcetto di Dogliani
is an often over-looked grape in Piemonte, one that a lot of wine snobs feel should stay that way. Rumor has it that winemaker Nicoletta Bocca, the brilliance behind San Fereolo, is going to change all of that, and after tasting this wine last week, we believe it’s possible. “Valdibal” is all-natural, delicate and approachable, with soft dark fruit and a fresh minty quality. An absolute joy to drink. $18

Poggio Trevvalle “Montecucco” 2006
Montecucco is a small region neighboring the more famous Brunello di Montalcino in Tuscany. A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, Poggio Trevvalle’s Montecucco Rosso is an excellent buy for Chianti and Cab lovers alike. $17
