Tuesday Night Tasting

Tonight, from 6-9 pm, Dandelion’s goin’ on a date with Mast Brothers Chocolate!
Join the Dandy girls, Winemaker Rosalia Molina from Altolandon Winery, and our friend Derek Herbster from Brooklyn’s Mast Brothers Chocolate Factory for a night of perfect pairings.

Altolandon Winery

Situated in high-altitude Manchuela, Altolandon winery is run by winemaker Rosalia Molina and her husband Manuel.

Rosalia writes:

“After analyzing the soils and the climate, which has warm days and cool nights, we found what grapes were suited to the area… Thanks to the poor sandy and stony soils, we get concentrated berries with good fruit, minerality, and good acidity because of the altitude. We started this vineyard in 2000 and are making organic wines…Our wines are a labor of love and are meant to express this unique high altitude terroir.”

Mast Brothers Chocolate

From Edible Brooklyn:

”It’s only five years since brothers Rick and Michael Mast began making their life-changing chocolate in a Williamsburg apartment but in that time they’ve become the exemplars of the area’s artisan era. From their DIY process (they were the first bean-to-bar outfit in New York) to their sustainable sourcing standards (they buy direct from small organic cacao farmers whom they regard as family) to the extraordinary quality of their product (bought by the likes of Dan Barber and Thomas Keller) to their facial hair (which would make President Lincoln envious), the brothers are emblem- atic of the Brooklyn food phenomenon.”
