I can’t hold back my excitement about this week's wine tasting on Thursday night, 6-9pm!  We have two of our favorite foodies coming to Dandelion to share their expertise with us.

Our friend and neighbor, Millicent Souris, will be here signing her cookbook, How to Build a Better Pie.  We were fortunate enough to be her recipe taste-testers from time to time during her year or so writing, and we can tell you that these pies are delicious Buy yourself a copy and gift one to your foodie friends — they’ll love it!  $24

And I’m also excited to have Andre H. Mack come and pour 3 of his wines the same night!  A Rose and Pinot Noir from Oregon, and a Merlot from Washington State.  More info to come later this week… but if I were you I’d mark your calendars and not miss this tasting!  It’s gonna be a lot of FUN.

MOUTON NOIR WINE IN THE HOUSE!  We had the pleasure of meeting and tasting with Andre H. Mack, the former sommelier of The French Laundry, and the founder and winemaker of Mouton Noir wines… we brought in 3 of them just in time for Thanksgiving.
LOVE DRUNK 2011 ROSE:  A rose made from a blend of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir, all from the Eola-Amity Hills AVA in Oregon.  We loved this rose from the first sip.  Lip-smacking acidity followed by ripe berry fruit followed by some more lip-smacking acidity… a great wine to sip on while cooking or a terrific choice to cleanse the palate during the rich meal that is Thanksgiving.  $18
OREGOGNE 2010 PINOT NOIR:  Andre has a clever sense of humor… and the name of his Willamette Valley Pinot Noir pays homage to the greatest Pinot Noir in the world which of course hails from Burgundy, aka Bourgogne.  This is a Burgundian-style Pinot with delicate notes of bright red fruit, rose petals, and earth… a beautiful wine meant to be shared with loved ones.  $48
CODE NOIR 2008 MERLOT:  We’ve carried other vintages of this wine in the past, it’s a tremendous value made from Merlot from Rattlesnake Hills in Washington State.  This Merlot is full-bodied with loads of black cherry and mocha notes.  It’ll stand up to pretty much anything on your plate… sausage stuffing, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, cranberry fluff, pecan pie, chocolate cake, you name it!  You might wanna buy a case of this stuff.  $16
