FULL MOON SYRAH

We find ourselves incredibly sensitive to the phases of the moon, especially when it’s full. Grapes are equally impressionable beings, which is why Biodynamic farming makes so much sense to us.

Enter, Lunar Apogé. This Pays d’Oc Syrah comes from a small property that has been biodymanic and organic since the 1970s.  Grapes are harvested at peak ripeness in the middle of the night.  Nocturnal harvesting preserves some of the natural acidity and minerality that the limestone-rich terroir imparts.  The wine is rich with concentrated dark berry fruit- blackberries, blueberries… and especially grapes.  We generally hesitate to describe a wine as “grape-y” because a.) it’s seems obvious, and b.) often times wine grapes don’t make juice that reminds us of typical “grape” flavor. But with this one, you can’t miss that note of concord good-ness.  On the finish, there’s a distinctive brightness and a touch of spice.

Uncork a bottle tonight and drink with your favorite wolves and witches.  It’s time to howl.
